Create a new project
The steps below are a summary of how to create a project. For a more detailed description refer to this article.
- Select New Project from the left-side navigation menu.
- Enter the project details, including a reference and a name (the reference must have no spaces).
- Enter the project site parameters.
- Enter the building parameters.
- Click 'Create'.
Note: Project settings define the project details along with baseline parameters for all calculations within the project. Parameters set within individual calculators will override project settings. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
Make a calculation
The steps below are a summary of how to make a calculation. For more details about the process, refer to this article.
- Select the calculator you want to use from the categories on the left-side navigation menu. If the calculator you need is not available, send us feedback here and submit a Specific Design Request.
- Enter a name to refer to for the calculation.
- Enter the project parameters (these will be pre-filled if set in the Project Settings).
- Enter the member selection details. If you need help see our Products & Finishes.
- Enter the member design parameters of the calculation. Ensure you refer to the diagram at the top of the calculation so the dimensions are correctly entered.
- Click ‘Calculate’.
- Use the filters to show more or less options. You can also select 'Show More Options' to see the full list of products that can be used.
- Select a product by clicking on it.
- Click 'Add to project'.
Repeat steps 1-10 to design another member and add to your project.
Generate PS1 certificate
The steps below are a summary of how to generate a certificate. For more details about the process, refer to this article.
- Go to 'Saved Calculations' from the left-side navigation menu.
- Click 'Create project certificate' to download PS1 for all saved calculations, or select 'Generate Single Certificate' from the drop-down options on a specific calculation to download a PS1 certificate for only that calculation.
- Click on the required documentation to attach to your certificate. Use the 'Preview' button to preview a document before attaching it.
- Click 'Generate Certificate'.
